Below is a picture we found of the square in the late 1800's



& todays view of the square & church.

Does anyone know when the buildings were knocked down,

or what they were ? i didnt even know they used to be there.

wow what a gr8 pic you got hold of there i was wandering just the same, when and what where those buildings ? gonna do a bit of research and see if i can find out.

In answer to ur question regarding the buildings in the square:
I know the house on the right was once a private home in the 1970's then used as an office and eventually demolished.

The "archways" on the left of the pic was once I think....public toilets.
The square at that time was used as a animal market, cattle sheep etc and not the sort of market
they have today. The actual square always had animal pens and cages, some left there permanently.
